O4.2 FAQ
General Questions
-
Will O4.2 affect the taste of my product currently infused with O4.1?
No, the emulsion characteristics and ingredients are not changing. The sensory attributes of O4.2 are identical to O4.1, so your infused products will not experience any changes in taste, aroma, or texture.
-
How did the potency of the emulsion increase without changing the formulation?
Through optimizations in our production processes and manufacturing equipment, we have increased the active load of the emulsion. This enhancement results in a higher potency output while maintaining the same high-quality formulation.
-
What do I need to update with this change?
If you currently use O4/O4.1, you will need to update the following:
- Batching Sheets, Formulas, and Calculators: Update any documents related to production recipes and addition amounts to reflect the increased potency of O4.2. Failure to adjust for the new potency could result in unintended overdosing. You can find our Batch Infusion Calculator here.
- Ingredient Line Review: Please note that when using our more concentrated emulsion formulations, no changes are required to the ingredient list or the order in which ingredients appear on the final product label, provided that the final product delivers the same cannabinoid dosage and maintains the same overall formulation by weight.

-
What preventative measures are being taken to ensure operators are aware of this change? To help ensure a smooth transition:
- Each O4.2 shipment will include a printed callout highlighting the higher potency.
- Jugs will continue to be labeled with exact tested potency values and batch information.
- We strongly recommend clients communicate these updates to their manufacturing partners.
- Each O4.2 shipment will include a printed callout highlighting the higher potency.
-
Will this affect the stability of my current O4.1-infused product?
No. The emulsion ingredients and droplet characteristics remain unchanged between O4.1 and O4.2, meaning there will be no impact on product stability, performance, taste, or appearance.
-
Can I mix O4.1 with O4.2?
We do not recommend mixing emulsions for long-term storage. However, if a batch requires a higher active quantity than what remains in your O4.1 inventory, you may use O4.2 to supplement the remaining active dose without stability or performance concerns. It is imperative that calculated additions of both emulsions are verified for accuracy and signed off on as part of production to ensure accurate dosing if using emulsions with two different active concentrations.
Transition Best Practices
To ensure a seamless transition from O4.1 to O4.2, we recommend the following steps:
-
1. Review Internal Documentation
- Update batching sheets, formulas, and SOPs with the new emulsion potency using our Batch Infusion Calculator.
- Adjust inventory management records to reflect the reduced amount of emulsion needed per batch.
- Update batching sheets, formulas, and SOPs with the new emulsion potency using our Batch Infusion Calculator.
-
2. Communicate with Your Team
- Inform production teams and operators about the potency change.
- Verify that calculators and dosing procedures are updated.
- Inform production teams and operators about the potency change.
-
3. Plan for a Controlled Transition
- If you have remaining O4.1 inventory, schedule a phase-out plan to deplete it before switching to O4.2.
- If mixing is necessary (e.g., topping off with O4.2), verify correct dosing adjustments.
- If you have remaining O4.1 inventory, schedule a phase-out plan to deplete it before switching to O4.2.
-
4. Confirm with Suppliers & Partners
If you work with co-manufacturers or formulators, provide them with updated information on O4.2, ahead of new production / product development
-
5. Monitor & Adjust as Needed
After transitioning, monitor production outcomes for conformance to current quality standards. If any questions arise, reach out to our technical team for guidance.
Operational & Supply Questions
-
Will there be any changes in pricing?
Pricing will not change. In fact, you may notice a reduction in shipping costs due less liquid volume of emulsion (i.e. a more potent formula) being shipped to you!
-
Will there be any changes in turnaround time or availability?
- O4.2 will become Vertosa’s stock formula starting July 1st, 2025.
- O4.1 will be officially sunsetted on June 30th, 2025.
- All orders after this date will automatically transition to O4.2.
- O4.2 will become Vertosa’s stock formula starting July 1st, 2025.
-
How will this change affect fulfillment quantities and storage?
20L Jug → 3.20 kg active
10L Jug → 1.60 kg active
5L Jug → 0.80 kg active
Regulatory

Do I need to update my product labels?
The concentrated emulsion is simply a more efficient format that requires a smaller quantity to achieve the same active ingredient levels in the finished beverage. Since ingredient labeling is based on the weight contribution within the final product—not the concentration of the input ingredient—the relative order and content on your product label remain unchanged.
